Age statements & Superior
- An age indication: An indicated age such as 10 or 20 years describes maturation, not the harvest year; the wines must meet the stated minimum age.
- Harvest year: A vintage year identifies the harvest; it is different information from an age indication.
- Superior: This regulated designation requires at least five years of ageing and approval for superior quality.
- Read together: Origin, grape wording, age or vintage and producer information answer different questions about the bottle.
